Carol Jenkins – Watercolor Painter

Carol Jenkins was told when she was in the 9th grade not to take any art classes in high school. Believing the teacher, she always thought that she was not an artist and couldn’t draw.

In her fifties someone told her she could draw and encouraged her to try it and she has been drawing ever since. She started with pencil drawings and even took a college class for drawing at Wenatchee Valley College. A friend introduced her to watercolor and from there she has gone on to use colored pencils, and watercolor pencil. She has taken some classes from local artists but for the most part is self-taught.

Carol lives in Chelan, Washington. She has three adult children and seven grandchildren. She is retired – for the most part – and now devotes as much of her time as she can to her art. She was a late starter in her art adventure. She is now in her 70′s and wants to learn all she can about art. Carol is self taught, and like most artists, her art is changing all the time.
